The Inability of Inactivity

Hello fellow Geeks, This is your friendly neighborhood Drakkarium leader.  I am writing you all today to explain my continuing absence, and our sudden decline in audio and video content.  The unfortunate side effect of my taking an extended break, is that our podcasts and assorted video content does suffer.  I have lately fallen under a mountain of busy, and trying to find time to do much else has been a challenge.  Regrettably, I am not here to shout from the rooftops that I am back, and things will be back in full swing soon.

As I settle into my new job, things haven't been getting less busy.  In fact, they have done the polar opposite.  Tacked onto that, things are getting more and more hectic in other areas as well.  I fear this will get worse before it gets better.

I am working on trying to find a way for things like the podcasts, and the videos, to function without my direct involvement during this period.  I hope to have that wrapped up into a solid plan soon, and will do my best to keep you all apprised of that progress.

Until then, please keep enjoying the great content being brought to you by Merlot Williams and Brandon Ray.  They have been doing a great job, and I look forward to seeing more from them as they hold this ship together.

Keep on Geekin' on!

Warning: Incoming Welcome Message!

I've been in talks lately with a fellow Geek writer known as Merlot Williams.  I met him through Dapper Shark Studios’ Good Talk Podcast, and we hit it off right away.  He shares in the vision of the Geek world that we do here at The Drakkarium, and in short order, I invited him to become a guest writer for our blog, and also into an open guest spot on future vlogs.  I've read his work, and shared it with you via our Facebook page, and I have liked what I have seen.

His “Warning: Incoming Rant” is an entertaining, and angry, approach to the Geek news that comes across our desks every day.  Giving a voice to the very things we all get frustrated with from the folks who dedicate themselves to supplying us with our geek fixes.  Whether it’s Microsoft’s follies with the Xbox One to something as simple as a terrible story line from a beloved game.  He is meticulous and straight forward, and I believe that to be a very great quality in a Geek critic writer.  He is also one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, and a great resource for more than just Geek knowledge and opinion.
That is why, when he asked about becoming part of our team, I jumped at the chance.  We needed a critic, we needed someone who isn't afraid to speak his mind, someone who can take one of the products being shoved down our throats, and scream from the rooftops if he has to, to get his voice heard.  We need someone who isn't afraid to tell us why Call of Duty is a plague upon the game industry, but also someone who can offer a much better alternative, for a much more enjoyable experience.  I know that if I were deciding on a game, and I walked away spending 60 bucks to find out the game is trash, I would be upset.  Merlot is there to help you.  These big companies need some humility, and he is here to help bring it to them.

I would like to personally welcome Merlot Williams, and Warning: Incoming Rant, to the Drakkarium.  Make yourself at home sir.
